Binding data from UI to model properties

I'm trying to figure out how to bind data from a UI control to model properties. I'm currently looking at doing this by creating an intermediate viewmodel that has two properties with in it which it will hold the data from the UI control. What I'm trying to find out if I'm going about this correctly?

What I'm currently doing is:

}

Any thoughts?

I'm using this approach in a couple of projects (mvvm), and I think that's the right choice for the problem you need to solve. You won't have to worry about implementing INotifyPropertyChanged for this class, and you also won't have to write or maintain any more code to bind to UI elements.

It's not 100% clear what a UI control is for or why it needs to be bound, but when the data being sent to the property is in fact a UI element, you may have a reason to have it in its own class, at least temporarily.
